Welcome to H.E.A.R.T of San Joaquin – Horse Empowered Academic Readiness Training. We are dedicated to nurturing young minds through innovative equine-assisted learning. Our unique programs in Stockton, California, leverage the gentle power of horses to boost reading and math skills, enhance vocabulary, and provide invaluable support for children with autism.
Our Transformative Programs
At H.E.A.R.T. of San Joaquin, we offer a diverse range of programs designed to meet the unique learning needs of every child. Through interaction with horses, we foster a supportive and engaging environment where academic and social-emotional growth truly flourish.
Personalized Tutoring
Our one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions provide individualized attention in reading and math, using horse-powered reading techniques to make learning engaging and effective for each child. Daily practice will also be provided to maximize progress.
Group Enrichment
Join our small group tutoring and enrichment programs focusing on reading and math. Children learn collaboratively, building confidence and skills in a fun, interactive setting with our equine partners.
Bridges: Neurodivergent Support
We offer supportive, sensory‑friendly sessions for neurodivergent children, using calm interaction with horses to build communication, confidence, and emotional regulation, as well as academics. Children participate in hands‑on activities such as grooming, leading the horse, brushing, and feeding. These experiences strengthen coordination, support sensory needs, and create meaningful learning in a peaceful, welcoming environment.
Early Learning Adventures
Our "mommy and me" small group sessions and vocabulary development programs for toddlers introduce early learning concepts in a joyful, horse-filled environment.
Hope & Heart Down Syndrome Program
Our Down Syndrome Support Program provides a warm, structured environment where children can grow at their own pace. We focus on communication, functional academics, social‑emotional learning, independence, and developmentally appropriate fine motor activities. We celebrate each child’s strengths and support meaningful growth in a nurturing, inclusive setting.
