Unlock potential, one hoofbeat at a time
Welcome to H.E.A.R.T. of San Joaquin. We are dedicated to nurturing young minds through meaningful, hands‑on equine‑assisted learning and horseback riding. Our program in Lodi, California uses the gentle power of horses to support confidence, communication, emotional regulation, and readiness for learning. Through individualized goals and supportive instruction, we create a safe and encouraging environment where children of all abilities can grow, connect, and thrive.
Our Transformative Program
At H.E.A.R.T. of San Joaquin, we offer a supportive and engaging Equine‑Assisted Learning and horseback riding program designed to meet the unique needs of every child. Through meaningful interaction with our horses, children build confidence, communication, emotional regulation, and readiness for learning. Our goal is to create an environment where growth truly flourishes and every rider feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Equine‑Assisted Learning and Horseback Riding
H.E.A.R.T. of San Joaquin offers a warm, supportive Equine‑Assisted Learning and horseback riding program designed to help children grow in confidence, communication, emotional regulation, and readiness for learning. Each session blends hands‑on horsemanship with riding activities that are adapted to meet the unique needs of every child.
Children learn through movement, connection, and meaningful interaction with our horses. Sessions may include grooming, leading, groundwork, mounted activities, obstacle courses, and games—all intentionally chosen to support social‑emotional development, body awareness, problem‑solving, and self‑confidence.
As a special education teacher, I create individualized goals for each rider based on their strengths, challenges, and what families hope to gain. Our approach is non‑clinical, child‑centered, and focused on helping every rider feel capable, supported, and empowered.
At H.E.A.R.T., children of all abilities are welcomed into a safe, encouraging environment where growth happens naturally through the gentle partnership between horse and rider.
"The H.E.A.R.T horse program has blessed our lives in so many ways. Our weekly sessions have helped our daughter with Down syndrome grow in her self-confidence, has strengthened her decision-making, listening, and communication skills. As a family, working with Hannah, her team, and the horses, has brought us immense joy and an activity we all look forward to every week!"
