Discover H.E.A.R.T. of San Joaquin

Welcome to H.E.A.R.T. of San Joaquin, where the gentle power of horses supports meaningful learning and personal growth. Located in Lodi, California, we offer one comprehensive Equine‑Assisted Learning program that combines horsemanship, social‑emotional development, and adaptive horseback riding. We work with children of all abilities and create individualized goals based on each child’s needs and what families hope to gain. Through hands‑on experiences with our horses, riders build confidence, communication skills, self‑regulation, and readiness for learning in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

Our inspiring journey

H.E.A.R.T. of San Joaquin was created from a deep personal conviction and a lifetime of experience watching children struggle in traditional learning environments. As a special education teacher, I saw firsthand how many students battled discouragement, low confidence, and the feeling that learning wasn’t meant for them. At the same time, my own journey with horses showed me how powerful they are in building confidence, emotional regulation, and a sense of capability. That connection sparked a vision: a place where children could grow through movement, connection, and hands‑on experiences that feel safe and empowering. By blending the calming presence of horses with intentional, individualized Equine‑Assisted Learning and adaptive horseback riding, H.E.A.R.T. offers children in Lodi a supportive environment where they can build confidence, communication, and readiness for learning in ways that feel natural and joyful.

"H.E.A.R.T. gave us hope, brought excitement to learning, and filled our home with peace."
